ProPhoto Support:
Before emailing support, we ask that you first make every effort to find the answer to your question here on this website. This helps us keep ProPhoto so inexpensive. Please read through the following options carefully to find out where on this site your question is answered and how to contact us if it is not.
Installation Problems:
If you're having trouble installing WordPress or ProPhoto, please consult our extensive tutorials and frequently asked questions page. Links to these pages are listed here:
- Tutorial: learning about uploading files, FTP, folders & directories, etc.
- Tutorial: Installing WordPress
- Tutorial: Installing ProPhoto
- Frequently Asked Questions (includes numerous installation-related questions)
- WordPress installation guide from WordPress.org
If the above resources aren't enough to help you through your WordPress or ProPhoto installation problem, you'll need to upgrade to the Handheld Installation. Please do not email us with installation questions. We do not provide free support (beyond our extensive tutorials and documentation) for installation issues for those who purchased the Do-It-Yourself version. You can upgrade very easily to the Handheld Installation for $69 by clicking here.
Customizing Questions:
If you have questions about customizing your ProPhoto blog, please consult our tutorials and frequently asked questions page. Links to these pages are listed here:
- Tutorial: customizing ProPhoto
- Tutorial: detailed instructions for changing colors, background image, fonts, font-sizes, and more.
- Tutorial: how to activate and use the flash movie slideshow header feature
- Frequently Asked Questions (includes numerous customization-related questions)
If you are trying to do an advanced, non-standard customization (e.g. "how do I move the flash movie above my logo and links", or "how do I make my drop down menu look like so-and-so's blog", or something along those lines), do not email for support. We do not provide free instructions for advanced, non-standard customization. Instead, you'll need to figure it out yourself or hire somebody with the ability to do it for you. If you want a powerful tool to help you experiment with CSS and HTML, download "Firebug," a powerful and free extension for the Firefox browser.
Alternatively, if you want to hire someone to do the customizations for you, feel free to contact our sister company NetRivet Web Development by emailing them at info@netrivet.com. Do not use this email address for ProPhoto support issues, as such emails will be ignored.
If your customization question does not fall into the category of an advanced, non-standard customization, and is not answered in any of the above tutorials or Frequently asked questions page, please read on.
Still have a question?
If you still can't find the answer to your question, try searching the tips blog. Use the search box in the upper-right corner. There is tons of information on the blog.
Also, please attempt to find it by searching the main site. You can access our search page by clicking here.
Search didn't turn anything up...
If searching proved fruitless, and you've looked carefully through our tutorials and frequently asked questions, please feel free to email us. We'd be happy to answer your question.
Thank you for bearing with us through these detailed instructions--doing it this way allows us to focus on keeping ProPhoto inexpensive and constantly improving instead of repeatedly answering the same questions.
